Midlands TD Urges Review Of Ireland’s Ticket Resale Legislation

Selling tickets above face value will result in penalties and possible jail time.

Ireland's ticket-touting legislation needs to be examined, according to a Midlands TD. 

It comes after it emerged there haven't been any prosecutions under the law since its introduction in 2021. 

Currently, selling tickets above face value for designated events is punishable by penalties of up to €100,000 and/or two years in prison.

However, a loophole means venues or events not officially listed are exempt.
