Africa Day begins in the Midlands with a series of events across the region celebrating African culture.
Westmeath is the first county to host the events, with Laois and Offaly scheduled to follow later in the month.
Africa Day is an annual national celebration organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs, honouring the people and cultures of African countries.
An art, family and film will take place in Moate in Westmeath on Saturday May 21st, May 30th, with Africa Day Celebration Event occurring from Willow Park football club on May 30th.
O’Connor Square in Tullamore will host their family friendly cultural event Saturday, May 30th, with Portlaoise Leisure Centre set to hold their Africa Day event on the same day.
