There's now been 57 road deaths in Ireland so far this year.
The Garda road safety campaign for the May Bank Holiday draws to a close this morning with more than 2,400 motorists caught speeding since Thursday.
One driver in the Midlands was caught travelling at 141 km/h in a 100 zone on the R446, between Horseleap and Moate on Sunday.
123 motorists were arrested for suspected drink or drug driving and more than 240 drivers have been caught using their phones or not wearing seatbelts.
There have also been two road deaths, inluding that of a cyclist in Laois, over the past five days, bringing the total this year to 57.
