60 year old Ann Creagh of Harbour Street in Ballynacargy was in Mullingar District Court this week.
A Westmeath woman says she is "deeply ashamed" at her decision to spit at a hospital security guard while her partner was tended to by ambulance personnel.
60 year old Ann Creagh of Harbour Street, Ballynacargy admitted to her guilt and apologised to her victim at a hearing in Mullingar District Court this week.
On October 2nd, 2024, security at the Regional Hospital in Mullingar was called to its ambulance bay to remove Ms Creagh following reports of her "poor behaviour", according to the Irish Independent.
The 60 year old then verbally abused the guard, before spitting at him.
After an official complaint was made, she admitted her guilt in an interview two weeks later.
Ms Creagh's partner, who she cares for, had fallen ill and her defence solicitor said that led to a relapse after 14 years of sobriety.
She brought a token of her remorse to the court in the form of €300.
Judge Patricia Cronin described the incident as "deplorable".
She ordered Ms Creagh to engage with probation services and remanded her on bail ahed of a sitting of Mullingar District Court on September 24th.
