The Emergency Department is extremely busy
The Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar is asking people to consider other options before attending the Adult Emergency Department, as it is extremely busy.
Patients are being asked to attend the Minor Injury Unit, in Ballinderry, for injuries such as broken bones, wounds and minor burns and scalds.
However, anyone who requires urgent care, will be prioritised.
Management is thanking the public for their support and understanding.
o Suspected broken bones to arm (from collar bone to fingertip)
o Suspected broken bones in legs (from knees to toes)
o Sprains and strains
o Wounds, bites (animal or insect) cuts, grazes and scalp laceration
o Minor burns and scalds
o Foreign bodies
o Minor chest injuries
