It's following controversy over the depiction of an Irish family in one of the books.
A number of midlands TDs are calling for a review of the SPHE programme, after the depiction of an Irish family in a book caused what's being described as 'outrage.'
The Health and Wellbeing book shows two Irish families, one of whom ate potatoes, bacon and cabbage each day and stated they didn't mix with other religions because they would be a 'bad influence,' while the other is shown as a multicultural family whom loves change.
The publisher of the book has since committed to withdrawing the section, and has apologised.
However, Laois Offaly Independent TD Carol Nolan, and former Justice Minister, Charlie Flanagan, have called for a review of the SPHE programme, in light of the controversy.
