Offaly Councillor Calls For Community Response Forums To Be Reactivated

An Offaly councillor is suggesting reactivating the Community Response Forums, set up during the pandemic, to assist with the current energy crisis.

A forum of agencies - including the HSE, county councils and community groups - was set up in each county in 2020 to help respond to covid-19.

Councillor John Leahy is calling for this forum to re-established in Offaly, to act as a watchdog and ensure people who are struggling have access to the supports they need.

The independent rep says the forum would be unable to provide financial assistance with energy bills, but could help local residents weather the winter ahead:
