A local woman says students are being exploited on the frontline.
Over €2,000 euro has been raised to support student nurses and midwives in Laois, who are receiving little to no pay.
22 year old Lynda Keyes from Camross has set up an online campaign to spread awareness and raise funds for those working locally in Portlaoise Regional Hospital.
She feels students are being exploited and put working on the frontline, despite being underqualified.
She's urging people to exercise within their 5 kilometres, post on social media with #PayStudentNursesAndMidwives and tag others, to keep momentum up:
