There could be a reprieve for small scale turf cutters across the midlands in the coming weeks.
Bord na Móna is taking legal advice on the establishment of a community co-operative for five years, allowing those using turf for home heating a chance to source alternative fuels.
In 2019, the High Court ruled that all bogs over 30 hectares would require planning permission for peat harvesting.
