A basic agreement has been struck between the Department of Education and Forsa.
Strike action by school secretaries and caretakers at schools across the country has been called off.
The Forsa union says the action has been cancelled.
This is on the basis government has made a commitment to negotiate comparable pension entitlements for school secretaries and caretakers.
It follows days of demonstrations across the Midlands with striking members picketing their own schools and TDs constituency offices.
The Minister for Education Helen McEntee is welcoming the agreement to suspend action to allow for talks.
