Westmeath will be the biggest beneficiary in the region with an allocation of €417,000 for four projects.
That includes €126,000 for the creation of a looped walk and cycleway in Kinnegad and €160,000 to install a boardwalk on the Cloncrow raised bog linking Tyrrellspass.
A quarter of a million euro will fund two projects in Offaly, with €200,000 of that going towards building a 400 metre river walk along the banks of the River Brosna in Clara.
The remainder will be used on a development plan for the Derryounce Experience in Portarlington.
A grant has been approved for just one project in Laois.
That is €112,500 to build an overflow car-park at Glenbarrow in Rosenallis with a view to improving access to the Slieve Blooms.
