A planned strike action for today was called off after talks led to an improved offer for workers.
SIPTU is repeating its opposition to the sale of Bord Na Mona Recycling despite reaching a resolution with the waste management company over strike action last night.
The union says they've secured significantly improved terms for their workers should redundancies take effect under the new owners.
The sale of Bord Na Mona Recycling is currently pending ministerial approval from the Department of the Environment.
BNM says last night's deal provides "a strong framework" to protect existing terms and conditions for all employees, and that their waste collection schedule will be back to normal next week.
