A female Garda and her male colleague were attacked while responding to a public order incident in the Battery Heights area on Friday afternoon.
A struggle ensued in efforts to arrest a man believed to be in his 20s, which culminated in both Gardaí sustaining injuries
The man appeared before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court on Saturday before being released on bail and is scheduled to return to Athlone District Court on April 1st, 2026.
