The facilities in Shannonbridge and Lanesboro have been shut down since 2020.
Calls are being made to reboot two midlands power stations, amidst growing fears of energy blackouts this winter.
Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten is campaigning for the facilities in Shannonbridge and Lanesboro, which shut down in 2020, to be reopened.
He claims the stations have the capacity to produce 250 mega watts of electricity, if operational.
