The ceremony is being held in Athlone for the first time.
An awards ceremony in Westmeath this weekend will honour refugees and asylum seekers who continue to bring positivity to the local community.
New Horizon Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Group and Dignity Partnership are collaborating for the 'Kudos' awards for volunteers from an asylum seeker or refugee background who have promoted social and economic inclusion in their various areas.
The event will be held in Athlone tomorrow afternoon from 1pm until 5pm at St Mary's Hall, with the day set to include a panel discussion, music and food.
This will be the first time in its 4 years of running, that the awards will be held in the midlands.
