The official launch will take place at the end of this month.
Ireland's first mobile pet therapy unit will be launched later this month in Westmeath.
The facility will allow a space for children and teenagers staying at the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar to interact with trained and certified therapy dogs.
Cian's Kennels is a charity set up to allow visits between sick children and their own family pets in Crumlin Hospital in Dublin.
The launch will be held on January 31st and will feature an appearance by Blizzards front man and mental health advocate Bressie, as a special guest.
One of the founders of Cian's Kennels, Evelyn Neary, who's son Cian received treatment in Mullingar Hospital, says she would like to see an extension of the service in the long term:
