Laois TD Willie Aird is making the point to seek a change in how it's assessed, raising the case of a woman from his constituency, who had almost €33 taken out of her allowance for doing so.
The Fine Gael rep says the small amount of work she found meant her weekly allowance was reduced from €146 to €113.
