An Offaly TD says the Government must prioritise support for households facing rising energy costs in October's Budget as electricity and gas price increases take effect from today.
Over one million homes are expected to see annual bills rise by between €250 and €300 following increases by Electric Ireland and Yuno Energy.
The latest CSO figures show inflation has risen to an estimated 3.3%, with energy costs a key driver of the increase.
