The Midlands MEP says scrapped plans for a Amazon manufacturing facility in Dublin will cost the State jobs.
Outdated electricity infrastructure, and a dysfunctional planning system has cost the State hundreds of jobs and hundreds of millions of euro in investment.
That's according to Midlands MEP Barry Cowen after Amazon's announcement it's dropped plans for a manufacturing facility in Dublin.
The €300 million project would have created over 300 jobs at the site in Ballycoolin, making server racks for use in data centres.
It comes after EirGrid warned of serious pressure on the national grid as demand increases.
