BNRG intend to build a 52 hectare solar farm on the Laois-Kildare border.
A public information and consultation clinic over a large scale solar farm in the Mdlands is taking place today.
Renewable energy company, BNRG has announced their intention to apply for planning permission for a 52 hectare project that will straddle both Laois and Kildare.
Experts from BNRG will be in attendance along with specialist engineering and environmental consultants from TOBIN Consulting Engineers.
The project promoters say there will be a Community Benefit Fund worth €800,000 and they're looking for feedback on how the money would be invested.
The public consultation event is on at the Portarlington Community Centre and will run from 3.30pm until 6.30pm.
