Taxpayer Shouldn’t Fund Pay Increases For RTÉ High-Earners - PAC Chair

RTÉ is seeking €9m from the government to give its staff pay rises.

The Chair of the Public Accounts Committee says the tax payer should not have to fund pay increases for high earners at RTE.

Its understood RTE has agreed to give its staff pay rises next year at a cost of €9 million which it is seeking from the government.

Sinn Fein Laois Offaly TD Brian Stanley said the tax payer should not have to foot the bill.
