In the midlands, there have been over 70 cases recorded in the last week.
There's been another spike in the number of Covid-19 cases.
1,108 cases of the virus were recorded last week, according to the latest report from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre.
The midlands saw 71 of those, with 35 in Westmeath, 21 in Laois and 15 in Offaly.
The HPSC last month recorded a 60% rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in Ireland, as well as a significant increase in the number of hospitalisations.
It comes as a new ESRI report found infection rates were one third higher in deprived areas, with less access to sanitation, a reliance on public transport and jobs not suitable for remote working, which all contributed to the spread of the virus.
