The 2.8 kilograms of ecstasy were discovered during routine checks by Revenue Officers at a premises in Athlone yesterday.
The drugs were contained in parcels labelled as ‘children’s toys’ that originated in the Netherlands and were destined for an address in Dublin.
Investigations are ongoing.
The seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the smuggling of illegal goods.
