A Laois hotel has ended its contract with the State to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.
The last of the Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection staying at the Town Hotel in Portlaoise were vacated in mid-July.
60% of the Ukrainian refugees being housed at the site remain in need of State supports, and have been moved to alternative accommodation, while the remaining 40% secured private accommodation elsewhere, or were assisted by Laois County Council staff under the 'Offer a Home' scheme.
That service, which consists of accommodation privately offered or pledged to Ukrainian families, has supported 71 households in Laois so far.
