The Irish Natura & Hill Farmers Association is urging the Minister of State for Nature Christopher O'Sullivan to address miss-information that the State has enough land to meet all Nature Restoration Law obligations.
INHFA President, Roscommon's Vincent Roddy, says this misrepresents the truth, as the State’s land only covers rewetting on approximately 100,000 hectares of land.
The full nature restoration obligations affect at least 1.6 million hectares.
The INHFA President says he wants transparency for farmers and rural communities who will face real impacts:
“Farmers, landowners and rural communities continue to be misled through clever manipulation into believing that there isn’t a direct threat to their property.”
