A local councillor says a small increase in tax can go a long way.
A new regeneration project in Offaly is an example of what can be done with increased revenue from property tax.
Edenderry Fine Gael Councillor Noel Cribben believes the €180,000 of funding for the project from Offaly County Council wouldn't be available if the charge wasn't raised by 15%.
A new library along with a community centre and theatre will be built on a former Tesco site in the town centre.
Cllr. Cribben says this initiative is vindication for those who voted for the increase:
