The redevelopment of a landmark Westmeath building is taking one step closer to becoming a reality.
Efforts are underway to convert the Harbour Building in Kilbeggan into an enterprise and community hub, following the allocation of €500,0000 under the Just Transition Fund.
In an update given to councillors at the Athlone-Moate Municipal District meeting yesterday, Westmeath County Council confirmed tender documents are in the final stages of preparation and the tender process is due to begin in two week's time.
An architect-led design team will take the project through planning, design, and procurement of main contractor and supervision works.
