Only 3.6% of Irish firms have used AI to replace a role.
There are growing fears among Midlands-based workers that artificial intelligence will end up making their jobs obsolete.
A new FRS Recruitment report shows 60% of professionals in the region believe that AI will either negatively impact or replace their current roles over the coming years.
Despite the concern, the report indicates only 3.6% of Irish companies say they have used AI technology to replace a full job or role in their organisation.
At the same time, employee adoption of AI continues to grow at pace - half of Midlands-based workers now report using AI regularly or occasionally in their role.
However just 18% of companies between Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford currently provide proper AI training to their staff.
