This comes following the passing of Garda Kevin Flatley while on duty.
An Garda Siochana have postponed all Go Purple Day events across the Midlands as a mark of respect for Garda Kevin Flatley.
Go Purple is an initiative between Gardaí and domestic abuse services across the country to raise awareness about domestic abuse, and was started in 2020.
It was to be take place on Friday, but has been postponed following the death of the 49 year old father of two while on duty on Sunday.
The Laois/Offaly division will now mark Go Purple Day on Friday, May 30th.
