Government Asked To Invest In Helping Patients With Incurable Skin Disease

The charity, which supports people with the disease, is looking for an €810,000 investment to help patients.

DEBRA Ireland is asking the government to invest the equivalent of two cups of coffee a day to help patients with an incurable skin disease. 

EB, also known as butterfly skin, is a lifelong debilitating and painful disorder which, in severe cases requires frequent bandage changes.

Emma Fogarty, from Abbeyleix, who suffers with EB, has previously raised the need for support and said "there were days when I was screaming in pain".
