44 families in the midlands are receiving help from a children's hospice charity.
LauraLynn is supporting 19 families in Westmeath, 14 in Offaly and 11 in Laois.
A new survey, by the organisation, shows four in five respondents felt isolated in their caregiving role.
It also revealed 7 in 10 provide more than 12 hours of care daily.
