Mucklagh's Dermot Murphy and Tullamore's Deirdre Coyle are taking part in the JFK 50 mile walk to raise funds for tthe Irish Cancer Society, Larcc and Palliative care.
The Moylagh 50 Mile challenge sees walkers travelling 50 miles under 20 hours or less, through Westmeath, Meath and Cavan.
Last year the same group raised over €167,000.
The JFK 50 Mile was first held in 1963 in the United States as part of the President's push to bring the country back to physical fitness.
