Just over 1,600 people have signed a petition calling for the addition of a new autism unit in a midlands school.
The IncredAbilities group, which is based in Rathdowney and Errill, is urging the Government to sanction the new classroom in St. Colmcille's National School.
The target for group's online petition is set at 2,500.
The Department of Education has said the National Council for Special Education is reviewing the area's case for a new ASD unit, and it will inform parents if one is sanctioned.
