US Aiming To Have First Lunar Mission Touchdown In Half A Century

It has been 52 years since Apollo 17 successfully landed on the moon.

A space lander - the size of a telephone box - is finally on its way to the moon.
 
A technical glitch delayed its journey from Florida yesterday.  
 
Now, it's heading to the lunar south pole where scientists hope to find hundreds of billions of gallons of water. 

If successful, it would be the first American lunar touchdown since the last Apollo mission half a century ago.
