That's according to new figures by Gardaí.
There was a 12% increase in hate crimes reported to Gardai in 2023.
Figures from the force show 651 hate crimes and hate related incidents were recorded by Garda members last year.
However, the report shows the Eastern region, which includes Laois, Offaly and Westmeath, recorded the smallest proportion of these incidents, with a figure of 16%.
36% of reports were race related, 18% were relating to nationality and 16% of cases were in relation to sexual orientation.
Chief Superintendent Padraic Jones says while it's good to see more people coming forward, these kinds of crimes need to be stamped out:
