This year's projected expenditure is 4.3 million more than 2021.
An uplift in this year's budget means Westmeath County Council will take on 15 additional staff.
The local authority's expenditure will increase by €4.3 million to €90.5 million in 2022, providing for new roles across their housing, heritage and sanitation departments.
The positions will include a conservation officer, community wardens and an executive engineer to oversee regeneration projects within the county.
