National Broadband Ireland has been providing an update to Laois County Council.
2 in 5 buildings in Laois won't receive a high-speed broadband connection for another two years.
1,739 premises in Ballylinan will have to wait until between February and April 2023, while the almost 2,300 buildings in Mountrath won't get the 500 megabite connection until the end of that year.
National Broadband Ireland doesn't have a timeline for when the 1,110 properties in Portarlington will get fibre broadband.
