Laois has recorded a particularly high increase.
53 new cases have been confirmed in the midlands in the last seven days.
Laois had the largest increase with 41 people testing positive for the virus between July 28th and August 3rd.
314 people have contracted the illness in the O'Moore County.
Meanwhile in Offaly, 10 cases were detected in the same peroid, bringing its total to 497.
Westmeath still has the highest number of cases in the region with 681 positive results, but only two confirmed in the last week.
The government says the country is in a very delicate position in its fight against Covid-19.
Over the past week, 362 people have tested positive for the virus with an increased number of cases among workplace settings and vulnerable groups.
On Tuesday, the government announced it would not be proceeding to phase four of easing restrictions as planned.
