235,000 people around the country are in need of social housing, according to a new report.
Over 9,000 people in the midlands have an 'ongoing need for housing.'
That's among the findings of a new report by the Parliamentary Budget Office, which shows just under 4,000 of those are in Westmeath.
In Laois, over 2,500 people have an ongoing need for housing, while the figure in Offaly is 2,200.
Around the country, 235,000 people are in need of social housing.
