The Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2023 is being championed by a midlands TD.
A new bill which aims to force An Bord Pleanála to make decisions in a fixed time frame has passed the first stage in the Dáil.
The Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2023 was proposed by Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen, and will act as a temporary solution to delays in the planning process.
Deputy Cowen says it will address time delays affecting key projects, while the Government outlines its plan to overhaul the country's planning system.
