Offaly County Council are approving the 15 year project in Croghan.
Approval is being granted for the development of a sand and gravel extraction facility by Offaly County Council.
The proposed development is being led by BD Flood Unlimited Company and is set for a 19.5-hectare greenfield site in Derryarkin townland in Croghan.
The extraction site is set to include a mobile welfare pod with an office, canteen, toilet and drying facilities, in addition to a designated parking area.
The development is expected to run for 15 years, covering both extraction and restoration phases.
Offaly County Council approved planning subject to 18 conditions.
