Cabinet has signed off on a new package of cost of living supports including a €200 lump sum to those on social welfare payments.
The €400 million social protection package also includes a €100 top up of child benefit.
There will also be a €100 increase in Back-To-School allowance, to be paid in July.
The 9% VAT for the hospitality sector will remain in place until the end of August, but the Taoiseach has confirmed that will be the final extension.
The lower excise duty for fuel will also continue until October.
The State Exam fees for the Junior and Leaving Certificate will be waived again, for the second year in a row.
