The over cost of a home in the midlands is over €200,000
The Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers is calling for a reform of the housing system, in the wake of its latest report.
Its Residential Property Price Barometer has found the cost of a 3-bed home in the midlands has remained largely unchanged, with the exception of Laois, where it's increased by just under three percent.
The average cost of a house of that variety will set you back nearly €250,000 in Westmeath, €220,000 in Offaly and €219,000 in Laois.
Nationally, there was an increase of two percent in the average price of a home in the first six months of this year.
