Over 40 new homes could be coming to the county.
A decision on a new housing development in Laois is due this week.
A proposal has been put forward for 44 new homes in Mountrath, a mix of two and three bed dwellings.
32 of these homes would be semi-detached, two-storey houses - with the remaining 12 made up of terraced two-storey homes.
Associated site works would include landscpaing, pedestrian access and boundary treatments.
A decision is due from Laois County Council on Thursday.
