Over €150,000 in cash and stolen property has been seized by Gardaí in an investigation into an Eastern European crime group.
€104,000 in cash and €50,000 in stolen vehicle parts, jewellery and watches were seized following a search of seven properties in Mullingar yesterday.
A number of financial accounts, which contained over €80,000, were also frozen.
A man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were arrested and were being detained at a Garda Station in the midlands, but both have since been released.
A file will now be prepared for the DPP.
Another man in his 20s has been arrested and charged after a stolen car was recovered as part of a further three searches in Mullingar this morning.
He has since appeared before the courts.
