John Flanagan passed away yesterday.
A former Offaly councillor will be laid to rest next week.
Fianna Fáil's John Flanagan, who was also a well-known businessman in Tullamore, passed away yesterday.
He built and operated the Tullamore Court Hotel, and his company was responsible for rebuilding the Church of the Assumption after a major fire in the 1980s.
Mr. Flanagan's funeral mass is due to take place in the Church of the Assumption in Tullamore on Monday morning at 10am.
He's survived by his family May, Rosaleen, Kathryn, John, Majella and Tony.
