The brother of an Offaly man who drowned in Limerick in June is asking the public to support his water safety fundraiser.
20-year-old Gavin Buckley set up the fund in aid of Water Safety Ireland and Limerick Marine Search, who attempted to rescue his brother Aaron when he got into difficulty while swimming.
He initially had a target of €500 but to date its raised more than double that - €1350.
On average 133 people lose their lives as a result of water related incidents each year.
