All the vehicles were driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
Three vehicles in the space of ten minutes have stopped by Westmeath Gardaí for driving the wrong way on a one way street.
The incidents took place around four o'clock yesterday afternoon in O'Growney Drive in Mullingar.
Gardaí say the one way system is often ignored and they'll be setting up regular checkpoints at the entrance to the estate to discourage anyone considering trying to save a few minutes by driving the wrong way.
The drivers stopped yesterday will receive a fixed charge notice and penalty points.
