Global Approach Needed As Gardaí Double Numbers Tackling Cyber Crime

45 officers now work in the Cyber Crime Bureau.

Twice as many gardai are involved in tackling cyber-crime as this time last year.

45 officers are attached to the National Cyber Crime Bureau - compared to 23 a year ago.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee says six regional units are being developed around the country, as the bureau expands.

But former communications minister, Denis Naughten, says a global approach is more important.
