Government Must Know How Asylum Seekers Are Arriving In Ireland - Midlands TD

Three-quarters of applicants who arrived in Ireland made their applications at the IPO.

75% of international protection applicants who arrived in Ireland up until the end of June made their asylum applications at the international protection office in Dublin.

5471 asylum seekers have arrived here in the first six months of the year.

Almost 25% were made at Dublin Airport.

Aontu leader and Meath West TD Peadar Tobin says the Government needs to know how people are arriving into the country:

Meanwhile Gardai say raises serious concerns around people smuggling, and they say anyone caught taking money from asylum seekers in order to transport them in the back of a lorry, could face up to ten years in prison.
